Win!

There are a million things we could all do with some extra time. Indulge in some of life’s little pleasures.
Here are askamum’s top time treats…

Indulge yourself with some ‘me-time’
Don’t feel guilty about carving out me-time. When your baby is asleep, indulge in a relaxing hot bath at the end of a long day and shave your legs with the Wilkinson Sword’s 3-in-1 Intuition Plus razor, that will leave your legs feeling glossy and glam. Then sit down and relax by reading a book, like Kate Morton’s – ‘The Forgotten Garden’, or watch a DVD, like British chic flick ‘Happy go lucky’ which is out this month.
Go shopping from home
It can be a daunting task trying to breeze through the shopping aisles with a pushchair and trolley. So why not make your life easier and get your groceries delivered to your door at any convenient time. And, when your baby’s asleep, update your wardrobe from the comfort of your sofa by checking out this clothing site for affordable yet stylish clothes – www.asos.com.
Face Painting Fun
Spend a few fun-filled hours with the children painting their faces. From butterflies to lions, you can make their day by transforming them into their favourite animals and letting them run wild in the land of make believe! For more fun things to do at home visit the askamum website.
Get green fingers!
Kids love to get messy and dirty, so what better way to spend an afternoon than in the garden. You can get them to plant seeds, water plants and even attempt to dig up the weeds. Then they can watch the plants grow and learn where vegetables come from.
Have a day off
Leaving your little one for the first time can be a terrifying thought. Put your mind at ease by leaving her with someone you trust, like your mum or partner, for you to enjoy a day out, or at least a few hours with your friends. Coming up in August there’s the vibrant Notting Hill Carnival in London and Oxford is having an Open Air Theatre Festival.
Have a coffee morning
Just because you’ve got a baby, doesn’t mean your social life has to end. Invite friends over to the house when your baby goes down for a nap, so you can get an hour or so of adult conversation and catch up on the latest gossip.
Go for a walk
Take your baby out for a walk in the pushchair and you’ll soon find the motion of the buggy sends them to sleep. Not only is it a great way for you to get some fresh air and exercise, you’ll both feel refreshed and energised when you get back home.
Picnic in the park
There are some great outdoor spaces for you and your whole family to enjoy, so take a picnic and relax in the great outdoors. Visit a Wetland centre (http://www.wwt.org.uk/) where children can enjoy free safaris on the river and get closer to nature. For 8 of the best outdoor spaces visit the askamum website.
